Abstract:
To address the issue of coal accumulation at the bottom of vertical shaft hoists that may lift tail ropes, induce torsional wear, and cause rope breakage, an intelligent early-warning and control scheme for coal accumulation at the shaft bottom is proposed. This scheme identifies the lower opening of the coal discharge hopper as the key monitoring point, equips it with a electrode-based coal level sensor, and utilizes radio transmission, relay circuits, ABB PLC data acquisition, and upper-level system status display to achieve real-time monitoring of coal accumulation status, synchronized alarms, and a closed-loop manual response mechanism. Field applications demonstrate that the system's alarm response time does not exceed 1 minute, there have been zero missed detection cases of coal accumulation, and zero unplanned shutdowns caused by coal accumulation, significantly enhancing both the timeliness of hazard identification and safety management in main shaft hoisting systems.
