Failure Analysis of Bolt Fracture

  • 摘要: 为了解道岔用螺栓服役工件断裂失效的原因,该文采用外观检查、理化检测(化学分析、硬度试验、金相试验)、断口分析等手段对断裂的螺栓进行了检测、评价、分析。结果表明:螺栓的失效形式为双向弯曲高周疲劳断裂,断裂的根本原因在于螺纹处存在脱碳层,脱碳层会严重影响材料的抗疲劳性能。通过分析螺栓断裂的失效机制,可以为道岔螺栓的制造工艺和质量控制提供经验指导,从而提高其耐用性和可靠性,减少断裂风险。

     

    Abstract: In order to determine the cause of fracture failure in bolts used for railway turnouts, this study conducted inspections, evaluations, and analyses on the fractured bolts using methods such as visual inspection, physicochemical testing (chemical analysis, hardness testing, metallographic examination), and fracture surface analysis. The results showed that the failure mode of the bolts was high-cycle fatigue fracture caused by bidirectional bending. The root cause of the fracture was the presence of a decarburized layer at the thread region, which significantly reduced the material's fatigue resistance. By analyzing the failure mechanism of the bolt fracture, the study provides practical guidance for the manufacturing processes and quality control of turnout bolts, thereby enhancing their durability and reliability while reducing the risk of fracture.
