Abstract:
The machine base is an important basic component of the entire machine. This paper employs CATIA software to conduct finite element structural analysis on the bolted foundation assembly (load 4.6 MPa), followed by finite element analysis on the foundation component body (load 6.8 MPa). The maximum stresses and displacements obtained under both conditions were consistent. Subsequently, lightweight design was applied to the foundation component body. Analysis findings: The bolted base assembly demonstrated lower load-bearing capacity compared to the base component body (replacing the welded joint assembly). Following lightweight design modifications, the base component body achieved an 8.54% reduction in mass, yielding material cost savings. This provides a reference and basis for applying CATIA software in base lightweight design research.
