Abstract:
To address the complex calculation of pitch curves for non-circular gears and the lack of dedicated design software, this paper proposes a parametric design method based on the collaboration of general CAD/CAE software. Firstly, a spline curve model is established in polar coordinates. The geometric query function of CAD software is used to obtain high-precision segmented arc lengths, and Matlab is adopted for the numerical calculation of pitch curve slopes. On this basis, the sweep feature of Creo is applied to realize the 3D generating modeling of non-circular gear tooth profiles. Example verification shows that this method avoids complicated programming and solving processes. Compared with the traditional discrete point plotting method, it greatly improves the continuity and design accuracy of non-circular gear tooth profiles, and provides an effective solution for the low-cost design of non-circular gears.
