Research and Development of High Power Density Rocker Arm Technology for Thin Coal Seam

  • In response to the complex working conditions and high-yield and high-efficiency demands of thin coal seams, enhancing the power density of the coal shearer's boom is crucial for improving its geological adaptability. This paper analyzes the technical characteristics of high-power-density booms for thin coal seams and points out the conflicts between the supporting parameters and functional requirements in achieving a high-power design within a limited space. By comparing the structural features of the double-motor transverse boom, C-type fully suspended boom, and H-type semi-suspended boom, the applicable working conditions and application scenarios of each type of boom are summarized. Based on this, in light of the existing problems in current applications, three key research directions are identified: multi-parameter coordinated optimization technology for booms, low-noise and long-life extension and thermal management technology for cutting transmission systems, and adaptive variable-frequency cutting and fault monitoring technology. The research results can provide a basis for the design optimization and selection of coal shears for thin coal seams.
