Experimental Study on Energy Absorption Characteristics of Guided Honeycomb Anti-Climber

  • The intermediate anti-climber is a passive safety protection device installed at the interface of the connection position between the adjacent compartment, it is used to absorb the impact energy in accidental collision. In order to verify whether the developed intermediate anti- climber meets the stringent performance requirements for rail vehicle, a systematic test study on the structural performance and energy absorption performance of the guided honeycomb anti-climber is carried out with reference to the test standard: EN15227: Railway Applications-Crashworthiness Requirements for Rail Vehicles. The research results show that the guided honeycomb anti-climber meets the performance requirements of vertical bearing performance test, static pressure test, impact rigid wall, dislocation 40 mm impact test.
