Modeling Approach & Multi-Axis Machining of Concave Surface in Knurled Mechanism

  • Aiming at the concave surface in knurled mechanism, a new and creative method based on 3D modeling approach & multi-axis machining is proposed in this paper. With the Chinese map section and font as curved blob patterns, the multiaxial processing process of concave roller pattern is studied and optimized, mainly including the knife track design, tool selection and cutting parameter setting; finally, a high-quality processing strategy of integrating 3D design to multi-axis processing is formed. The results of experimental data analysis show that this processing strategy can not only reduce the operating time, but also improve the operating productivity, so it has a broad market application prospect.
