Design and Application of Friction Drive Boosting Device for Long Distance Belt Conveyor Lines in Mines

  • During the operation of a linear friction belt conveyor, the insufficient driving force generated by the friction between the bearing belt and the transmission belt during no-load or underload conditions leads to an increase in energy consumption of the host system; and the phenomenon of excessive belt wear would be caused by the sharp increase in friction between the load-bearing belt and the transmission belt when fully loaded. Aiming at the above problems, taking the operating conditions of linear friction belt conveyors as the research background, the conveyor layout is studied, and the characteristics of the conveyor belts under the concave and convex arc section layout are analyzed. Then the band edge boosting method is proposed, friction driven boosting device is designed, and the simulation model is established for calculation. The simulation calculation results show that the friction driven boosting device can independently adjust the friction force between the bearing belt and the transmission belt based on the size of the belt load, improve the insufficient driving force, extend the belt service life, and facilitate long-distance and large volume transportation of the friction belt conveyor. It provides reference for the large-scale production and use of friction belt conveyors under the similar working conditions.
