Design and Development of Air Intake System for a Heavy Duty Vehicle

  • In this paper, the air intake system of a newly developed special vehicle is taken as the research object. Firstly, the static strength and modal analysis of the air filter and the base bracket are carried out by using the finite element analysis software. Based on the frequency domain acceleration method, the vibration test is carried out on the electromagnetic vibration table, and the reliability of the newly designed support is verified by the bench test. At the same time, the performance index of the air filter assembly before and after vibration is verified by the laboratory, it meets the performance requirements of the product. To sum up, the new designed structure meets the design requirements, and verifies the accuracy of simulation analysis; it shortens the development cycle and costs of the vehicle, and provides reference for the subsequent new product research and development.
