CFD Numerical Simulation of T, L Slot Cylinder Gas Film Seal

  • In this paper, characteristics of the cylinder gas film seal are expounded, and two new structures of T- and L-shaped grooves slot cylinder gas film seal are put forward. The gas film models of T- and L-shaped grooves are established by Proe, and meshed with professional software Hypermesh. The two kinds of sealing structure performance are analyzed by the Fluent software under the same operating pressure. The simulation results are processed and the sealing performance of T-type and L-type cylindrical gas film is compared; the results show that T slot model structure has the best dynamic pressure effect. Meanwhile, the effects of different operating parameters on the sealing performance of the two groove seal modes are investigated; the results show that different operating parameters have strong influence on T slot model cylindrical gas film seal.
