Analysis and Optimization of the Exhaust Camshaft Profile of a Certain Automobile Engine

  • Taking a 1.6L engine as the research object, the AVL BOOST software was used to simulate the exhaust camshaft profile of the original engine, and after analysis and optimization, a new exhaust camshaft profile was formed. When compared with the performance of the original engine, without modifying the maximum lift of the camshaft profile, the exhaust valve opening angle was adjusted in advance, and optimization of the engine exhaust camshaft profile can increase torque and power, and reduce the fuel consumption rate. The optimized exhaust camshaft profile can effectively improve the engine performance and extend its service life.
