Exploration of Multi-Axis Machining Technology based on Mastercam in the Processing of Historical Relics

  • In this paper, taking the historical relics - Xi'an Terracotta Warriors and horses as an example, the Mastercam software is applied to carry out the geometric reduction modeling design; and the multi-axis machining technology of complex free-form surface in the Terracotta Warriors stucture is studied and optimized, including tool parameter setting, tool path analysis, and milling parameter optimization, and finally a high-quality machining strategy is formed. The results show that application of this processing strategy can effectively improve the processing quality of historical relics and crafts. The method provides an effective technical route for the long-term historical effective digital protection and publicity of historical relics in China, and expands the application range of intelligent manufacturing technology in the field of traditional culture. Thus it has broad market application prospects.
