Improved Design of the Heavy Duty Vehicle Exhaust Bracket based on Failure Mode Analysis

  • The exhaust structure on the high-power traction vehicles is a type of exhaust that is rarely used in the domestic and international commercial vehicle markets. In order to solve the problem of cracking and fracture of the exhaust bracket designed by the company during market validation, this article firstly carries out the failure mode judgment and mechanism analysis by observing the macroscopic fracture morphology of the faulty components of the upper exhaust bracket, then improves the design of the bracket structure, finally through the dual verification of real vehicle road simulation tests and market trial sales tracking, the effectiveness of the analysis, improvement, and verification measures for the faulty components of the cylinder type upper exhaust bracket has been demonstrated. This provides a feasible approach and reference for the development and improvement of heavy duty vehicle upper exhaust brackets.
