This paper focuses on the metallurgical and new materials industry in Gansu Province. By analyzing its industrial scale, structure, technological level, standardization groundwork, and existing challenges, and considering domestic and international industry development trends, it clarifies the strategic positioning and key tasks for standardization within Gansu's metallurgical and new materials industry. The paper proposes establishing a standards system covering advanced non-ferrous metals materials, carbon-based new materials, new energy materials, and other related fields. It also outlines implementation strategies regarding organizational support, financial backing, and talent development. The aim is to enhance the standardization level of Gansu’s metallurgical and new materials industry, strengthen its core competitiveness, and offer insights for promoting high-quality, standardized development within the sector.
