Design and Application of Automatic Iron Cleaning Robot for Mines

  • During mining operations, damage or detachment of spare parts from mobile equipment is difficult to detect in time, which may cause metal objects to mix with the ore and enter the ore pass and crushing and conveying system. This can lead to serious equipment failures such as belt surface scratches, belt tearing, crusher blockage, tooth breakage, and shaft fracture, resulting in significant economic losses. In response to these conditions, this paper designs a mine automatic metal removal Cleaning Robot system. The system control unit consists of an ABB industrial robot and a Siemens PLC. Through their coordination, the hardware and program of the workstation control system are optimally designed.Field test results show that the system can automatically complete the detection and removal of metal objects from the ore. It operates stably and performs well, meeting on-site production requirements, significantly reducing equipment failure rates, and improving mining production efficiency.
