Finite Element Analysis of an Overhead Traveling Movable Formwork System

  • Aiming at the structural safety of the overhead traveling movable formwork system, this paper selects the most critical segments of the inner and outer formwork under critical working conditions and conducts simulation analyses using ANSYS. Finite element models of the inner and outer formwork are established, in which the steel panels are modeled using shell elements and the frame beam system is modeled using beam elements. In terms of load application, the construction characteristics and actual loading conditions of concrete pouring operations are fully considered. After completing the strength and stiffness verification of the steel panel shells and frame beams of the inner and outer formwork, the stability of the compression support members of both formwork systems is further evaluated. The results confirm that the formwork system maintains good structural reliability even under extreme construction loads, providing a reliable theoretical basis for the safety assessment of movable formwork systems.
